I. There is a problem in society today. That problem is:
The problem in society today is whether or not to pay college athletes.
II. Facts that demonstrate that there is a problem are:

Players are dropping out of college and going straight to the NBA or NFL because their families are too poor and they need money to survive and live a happy life. Some college athleyes come from backgrounds where there is no parental involvement, or no money to provide assistance and unfortunatley they have to discontinue school because of it. Also while at college some student-athletes don't have that extra money from there parents to get food or anything that the school doesn't pay for so having a weekly allowance from the school would allow them to get those extra things. There are also NCAA rules that say athletes are not alowed to work, so how are they supposed to eat and live on campus. These athletes need some kind of income.
